The mission of Tix for Tots is to provide children with experiences today to inspire the dreams, hopes and achievements of tomorrow. These experiences include professional and/or college athletic events, concerts, theater performances, museum exhibits, and more.

What is our History?

Tix for Tots was founded in 2000 by Robb Neuenschwander, an avid University of Minnesota Gopher basketball fan. Sitting in his season ticket seats, Robb was frustrated that so many seats were empty for a sport he loves. Having volunteered as a big brother for the last five years through Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Robb matched up his two experiences and saw a need - why not get those seats to kids and mentors who can use them? Everyone benefits. The ticket owner feels good about using their seats, the venue gets people who want to be there, participating in the event, and a child gets to experience some magic. The concept is simple, but the benefits are fantastic!

Today, the Tix for Tots Board of Directors is working hard to make this vision turn to reality.

How does it work?

Tix for Tots accepts tickets to a variety of events. Partnering with with over 500 charitable organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Sharing and Caring Hands, etc., Tix for Tots contacts the partner organization, who uses their relationships to get tickets to kids who can use them. Tix for Tots then follows up with the partner organization to ensure the tickets were used, and the child thanks the ticket donor with a handwritten note. Tix for Tots is a 501(c)(3) organization. This nonprofit status allows the donor to deduct the face value of the tickets at tax time.

We prefer to receive tickets with at least seven days in advance of the upcoming event. But, we are able to accommodate shorter timeframes, if necessary. To ensure that your donated tickets will get used and qualify as charitable donations, please make sure we receive them by no later than 48 hours before the event.
